The Global Immigration Problem by a man we need in office or as an advisor, Mr. Victor Davis Hanson

"Thousands of aliens crossing our 2,000-mile border from an impoverished Mexico reflect a much larger global one-way traffic problem.

In Germany, Turkish workers - both legal and illegal - are desperate to find either permanent residence or citizenship.

"Londonstan" is slang for a new London of thousands of unassimilated Pakistani nationals.

In France, there were riots in 2005 because many children of North African immigrants are unemployed - and unhappy.

Albanians flock to Greece to do farm work, and then are regularly deported for doing so illegally.

The list could go on.

So why do millions of these border-crossers head to Europe, the United States or elsewhere in the West?

Easy. Stable democracies and free markets ensure economic growth, rising standards of living and, thus, lots of jobs, while these countries' birth rates and native populations fall. In contrast, immigrants usually flee mostly failed states that cannot offer their people any real hope of prosperity and security. "

....and then this....

There is a final irony. The more Western elites ignore their own laws, allow unassimilated ethnic ghettos and profit from an exploitive labor market, the more their own nations will begin to resemble the very places immigrants fled from.

Here's the whole article.

Chavez, You Can Shut Down Venezula's Most Watched TV Station, But.....

......did you happen to think of video cell phones and......YouTube?

Hugo Chavez may think he's the bee's knee's and one step of everyone else by shutting down RCTV, Venezuela's Radio Caracas Television and the #1 in tv station in viewership....since 1953, but what he didn't bank on was modern technology....such as video cell phones and YouTube.
Venzuelan blogger extraordinaire, Daniel Duquenal has photo's here.

Are cell phone sites next? Wouldn't be surpised.......many web sites are now being monitored and shut down.

Below are part of "about a hundred" of Venezuelan's protesting the closing of RCTV

The Fred.......Has Landed

Mark in México posts......."Fred Thompson: The next President of the United States of America".

Maybe. Only Rudy Giuliani has a shot at stopping him. There is no special interest-pandering, flip-flopping Democrat with the juice to do it. Americans may indeed want an "adult with a firm hand on the tiller."

What about a Fred/Romney ticket?

QandO has some questionsMichael PFvdG: . . . Thompson is most certainly electable.Don Surber compares him to the following:

Ben Roethlisberger, backup to Tommy Maddux. Super Bowl record: 1-0.
Tom Brady, backup to Drew Bledsoe. Super Bowl record: 3-0.
Brad Johnson, backup to Warren Moon, Randall Cunningham, Chris Simms, Brian Griese, Daunte Culpepper, Tony Romo. Super Bowl record: 1-0. Combined Super Bowl records of Moon, Cunningham, Simms, Griese, Culpepper and Romo: 0-0.
Trent Dilfer, backup to Casey Weldon, Shaun King, Tony Banks, Matt Hasselbeck, Charlie Frye, Alex Smith. Super Bowl record 1-0. Combined Super Bowl records of Weldon, King, Banks, Hasselbeck, Frye and Smith: 0-1
Kurt Warner. backup to Trent Green, Marc Bulger, Eli Manning, Josh McCown, Matt Leinert. Super Bowl record: 1-1. Combined Super Bowl records of Green, Bulger, Manning, McCown and Leinert: 0-0
Brett Favre, backup to Chris Miller, Billy Joe Tolliver, Dan Majkowski. Super Bowl record: 1-1. Combined Super Bowl records of Miller, Tolliver and Majkowski: 0-0.
Steve Young, backup to Joe Montana. Super Bowl record 1-0.
Joe Montana, backup to Steve DeBerg. Super Bowl record 4-0.
Terry Bradshaw, backup to Terry Hanratty. Super Bowl record 4-0.
Earl Morral, backup to Y. A. Tittle, Bobby Layne, Tobin Rote, Tom Kennedy, Gary Wood, Johnny Unitas, Bob Griese. Super Bowl record: 1/2-1/2 (replaced by Unitas during Super Bowl III defeat by Kansas City, replaced Unitas during Super Bowl V victory over Dallas)
Bart Starr, backup to Tobin Rote, Babe Parilli and Lamar McHan. Super Bowl record 3-0 (plus 2 NFL Championships prior to Super Bowls, so 5-0 would not be unrealistic)

Don shows us that these "backup quarterbacks", who at one time or at many times during their careers "looks good holding that clipboard in that nice crisp uniform on the sidelines. He ain’t never thrown an interception or fumbled the ball." hold a combined (roughly) 20-1 edge over the starters they eventualy replaced, except for Unitas and Montana who won a bunch before being replaced. I like 20-1 odds.

Fred!'s got Babalu Blog's vote.Dean Barnett favors Mitt Romney but still thinks this is great news.AllahPundit asks, "Will Fred! flop!?"The Captain is looking forward to Thompson's campaign.Mary Katherine Ham says, "He's got the charisma of Rudy with better social-con creds than most of the pack."Scared Monkeys thinks that Hillary and Obama will ". . . look shrill and lightweight compared to him."

I'm A Xenophobic Redneck.......Gone Wild, Are You?

Hell, and I didn't even know it, thanks to Linda Chavez, and you know what, I really like(d) her, she has great columns and books as well. Oppose the current amnesty/immigration bill and that's who you are, I'm really disappointed with what she has just written here. Here are excerpts:

  • Some people just don't like Mexicans -- or anyone else from south of the border. They think Latinos are freeloaders and welfare cheats who are too lazy to learn English. They think Latinos have too many babies, and that Latino kids will dumb down our schools. They think Latinos are dirty, diseased, indolent and more prone to criminal behavior. They think Latinos are just too different from us ever to become real Americans.

  • What is said today of the Mexicans, Guatemalans, Salvadorans and others was once said of Germans, Swedes, the Irish, Italians, Poles, Jews and others. The only difference is that in the past, the xenophobes could speak freely, unconstrained by a veneer of political correctness. Today, they speak more cautiously, so they talk about the rule of law, national security, amnesty, whatever else they think might make their arguments less racially charged.

  • Where once the xenophobes could advocate forced sterilization and eugenics coupled with virtually shutting off legal immigration from "undesirable" countries, now they must be content with building walls, putting troops on the border, rounding up illegal aliens on the job and deporting them, passing local ordinances to signal their distaste for immigrants' multi-family living arrangements, and doing whatever else they can to drive these people back where they came from...

  • [W]e need to quit pretending that the "No Amnesty" crowd is anything other than what it is: a tiny group of angry, frightened and prejudiced loudmouths backed by political opportunists who exploit them.

It would be one thing if Chavez were saying that some critics of the Senate bill hold racist views. But she is clearly going way beyond that. (" Stripped bare, this is what the current debate on immigration reform is all about.") She slams the Center for Immigration Studies by name and a majority of the people who have supported her work in the past by implication. Her thesis is that people who object to amnesty just don't like Mexicans, and any arguments they make about national security or the rule of law are just coming up with more politic ways to express their racism.

The terrorists must be lickin' their chops, I know many have come in with visas, etc., but if the now lame duck President Bush said he would do all he can to protect the border, this bill falls far, far short, he is going back on his word, why make it
EASIER for terrorists to enter the USA? All we have to do is enforce the laws!

BTW, I am married to a Méxican and I embrace immigration. Our current INS department is seriously flawed, let's not take a step backward, we must improve our current system and enforce the law.........which by the way, will save billions and billions of dollars.

The Reformation of Islam Can Only Come From Within

Was out running an errand and caught part of the Dennis Prager show and on it he had Dr. Tawfik Hamid, a onetime member of Jemaah Islamiya, an Islamist terrorist group, Dr. Hamid is a medical doctor and Muslim reformer living in the West and author of The Roots of Jihad.

This is a very brave man who is nearing completion of his book on re-interpreting the Koran, and a man who was on the verge of killing and raping non-followers of Jemaah Islamiya before goodness stepped in the way of evil.

Here's his article form nearly 2 months ago in the WSJ, depicting the "progressive", err, make that the regressive left and its obstruction to the reformation of radical Islam.

Excerpts......

....it is ironic and discouraging that many non-Muslim, Western intellectuals--who unceasingly claim to support human rights--have become obstacles to reforming Islam. Political correctness among Westerners obstructs unambiguous criticism of Shariah's inhumanity. They find socioeconomic or political excuses for Islamist terrorism such as poverty, colonialism, discrimination or the existence of Israel. What incentive is there for Muslims to demand reform when Western "progressives" pave the way for Islamist barbarity? Indeed, if the problem is not one of religious beliefs, it leaves one to wonder why Christians who live among Muslims under identical circumstances refrain from contributing to wide-scale, systematic campaigns of terror.

.....and.....

Western feminists duly fight in their home countries for equal pay and opportunity, but seemingly ignore, under a façade of cultural relativism, that large numbers of women in the Islamic world live under threat of beating, execution and genital mutilation, or cannot vote, drive cars and dress as they please.

The tendency of many Westerners to restrict themselves to self-criticism further obstructs reformation in Islam. Americans demonstrate against the war in Iraq, yet decline to demonstrate against the terrorists who kidnap innocent people and behead them. Similarly, after the Madrid train bombings, millions of Spanish citizens demonstrated against their separatist organization, ETA. But once the demonstrators realized that Muslims were behind the terror attacks they suspended the demonstrations. This example sent a message to radical Islamists to continue their violent methods.

Read the article here, then either post it or print it and hand it out.

A Religion Blown To Pieces

One quarter of American Muslims under age 30 see little wrong with becoming smithereen commandos.

From MSNBC:

  • WASHINGTON - One in four younger U.S. Muslims say suicide bombings to defend their religion are acceptable at least in some circumstances, though most Muslim Americans overwhelmingly reject the tactic and are critical of Islamic extremism and al-Qaida, a poll says.

Are there a hundred Muslim teens in your kids high school? Statistically, 25 of them see no problem with blowing you to kingdom come, if they think you're dissing their religion.
No doubt, CAIR and co-conspirators will shriek that this is a result of the isolation felt by Muslims in American society. They're wrong. This is a failure of Muslim American culture, reflective of the greater failure of worldwide Muslim culture that nurtures terrorism and led directly to 9/11.
This should be a wake-up call for Muslim moderates. It should not, though it will, be used as an opportunity to whine about how Muslims are perceived.

Finishing Hitler's Work? Israel Preparing For War

Israel's failed government may be asleep at the switch, as recently reported, but its military and intelligence agencies are preparing for the worst: escalating rocket attacks from Hamas in Gaza and a fresh outbreak of provocative assaults from Iran's Lebanese proxy army, Hezbollah, leading to all-out war with the two terrorist groups, their ally, Syria, and possibly also Iran itself, which is stirring the Middle East pot to divert attention from Tehran's covert nuclear arms program.

As shown by last year's disastrous Lebanese war, the stakes are extremely high. Coordinated missile barrages could level Israeli cities and towns; Syrian chemical and Iranian radioactive dirty bomb attacks could cripple the Jewish state. An Iranian nuclear strike could destroy Israel. Iran has probably not yet developed nuclear weapons; but the possibility that the Hitler-admiring (but Holocaust denying) Islamist regime may have acquired one or more atomic warheads can't be ruled out.

Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad wants to finish Hitler's work. But Israel is not a defenseless community. Nor is Israel the United States, for that matter. Should its enemies attack, Israel will not again make the mistake of playing by unrealistic rules of engagement. Rather, the reborn Jewish state will move swiftly and decisively to end Iran's monstrous mullahocracy and the regimes running Gazastan and Syria, regardless of the criticism from appeasement-advocating diplomats, journalists and academicians in the US and Europe. The Chamberlains and Quislings are in for a shock.

Another June War?

Things are really heating up on the Gaza Strip. As Confederate Yankee reported earlier, the attacks on Sderot Israel are mot getting much media attention but over 80 Qassam rockets have been fired into the town since in the past three days.

The fighting could start as early as next month; but Israel's worst-ever government is asleep at the switch. China Challenges reports on it.

40 years after the Six-Day War, which began on June 5, 1967, Jerusalem's front-line Arab enemies--Syria, Hezbollah, and Hamas--are planning a major assault on the Jewish state with the backing of Saudi Arabia and nuclearizing, non-Arab Iran. The latter foe, which has been ruled by a monstrous mullahocracy for nearly three decades, has the same ambitious war aim as the Lebanese and Palestinian terror-armies: Israel's physical destruction. As such, Iran could become directly involved in the fighting, raining missiles down on Israeli cities and possibly attacking, via terrorist surrogates, with radiological dirty bombs ... assuming, that is, that the Islamist regime has not already acquired nuclear warheads.

Not for nothing does Iran's Hitler-admiring (but Holocaust-denying) monster-in-chief, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, promise his followers "a world without Zionism." He is working overtime to make their horrific dream a reality.

In contrast with Iran, Syria's objectives are more modest: the "liberation" of the Golan Heights and rubbling of Israel's northern cities. The Baathist regime, which is increasingly menaced by an Islamist revival, seeks to erase the "stain of defeat" at the hands of Israeli forces--and earn the respect of the Muslim world by delivering death and destruction to the "little Satan" through massive missile attacks and use of chemical weapons.

Israeli Arabs are also likely to join the fighting: terror cells, including units linked to Al Qaeda, are believed to be planning a major uprising, or intifada, as well as waves of suicide bombings. Like Iran, Hezbollah, and Hamas, Islamized Israeli Arabs sense an opportunity to change history

GO SUNS!
After 8-9 years of not watching basketball because of its crappy style of play and a league full of pathetic thug types, it is now fun to watch, well the Phoenix Suns at least. Thanks mostly, actually all because of the skills of Steve Nash, the guy is stone cold wicked. He gets whacked by a-hole Robert Horry and then the Suns get whacked by having 2 studs suspended for coming to his rescue. Rules are rules, I just think the NBA went too far, Robert Horry is a dirtbag schmuck, go ahead and take some frustrations and Whack-A-Horry

The Saddam Hussein / al Qaeda Connection

Of course the left and its proxies in the democratic leadership have closed down the window on new data regarding this, but that doesn't mean serious people have to blind themselves to new information.

The latest from American Thinker's Ray Robinson and more evidence of Saddam and al Qaeda ties.

One thing to remember, Saddam and Bin Laden pretty much hate(d) each other, but as the saying goes.............the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

"An al Qaeda document newly released by the Combating Terrorism Center (CTC) of the United States Military Academy provides an extraordinary new connection to a previously reported order by Saddam Hussein to support al Qaeda attacks upon US forces in Somalia. It corresponds with other documents that show Saddam Hussein was using Islamic terrorists as proxies to attack US interests. The document was part of a US Army report on al Qaeda in Africa. That study contends that although al Qaeda managed to train other Islamic fighters in Africa, it did the organization no long term good, as it failed to bend the region to al Qaeda doctrine."

Hate Crimes Really Only Pertain To White People

Be prepared to be horrified, this is one of the most disgusting things I have ever read. What is it? Black on white crime.......and NO ONE REPORTS IT, except on the blogosphere......of course the MSM runs from this like the plague.

Flopping Aces has it here, as well as InstaPundit

Five savages (after hearing about what they are charged with in the 47 count indictment, they don't qualify as human beings - we're talking Islamist-level brutality here) kidnap, murder, rape, torture and mutilate a white couple, and there isn't even a blip on the national media radar.

A psychotic stripper from Durham with a history of making false accusations says three white boys raped her, and the MSM goes into Pavlovian Dog mode, salivating over every detail for months on end until they were forced to cover the end result they didn't want.

The Torture Question

Whether you're left, right or in between, ask yourself this yes-or-no question: If torturing a known terrorist would save the life of the person you love most in the world, would you approve it?

If your answer is "no," you're not a moral paragon. You're an abomination. And please make your position clear to your husband or wife, mother or father, son or daughter. Just tell 'em, "Sorry, honey, but I'd rather see you dead than mistreat a terrorist. It's a moral issue with me."

Excerpt of the Day: Two Different Definitions Of Supporting The Troops

From John Hinderaker at Powerline:

"When conservatives talk about supporting the troops, they mean doing everything possible to help them win the war they're fighting. Liberals never seem to talk about victory, but rather see "support" as turning soldiers and veterans into another victim group, dependent on government health and welfare services.

Will it work? So far, at least, I think a large majority of our service personnel think of themselves as warriors rather than participants in a social welfare program. But there is a certain logic to the Democrats' approach: if one's only concern is the safety of the troops, the simple solution is never to fight. And if, like most liberals, you have no intention of ever fighting, then you might as well take credit for keeping the troops safe. But that isn't what most Americans, or most soldiers, have in mind when they think of an effective military." --

If You're Against Or Riding The Fence On The War.....

Read The Coming War with Islam and VDH's Al Qaedism, Again (print 'em) for a nice little wake-up call. No pull-out, no appeasement, it's all about laying down the law and to absolutely destroy the terrorists and their will. There's been admitted mistakes, we need to learn from them.

Here's an excerpt from a Palestinian to an Israeli in the article:

“The American bungling of the war in Iraq only added to their conviction that victory not only over Israel but also over the West is not only possible, but certain. The ramifications of these two bungling wars may bring an Islamic bloody Tsunami all over the West, not only in Israel. The sharks smell blood and these two wars gave them the green light to attack sooner than they had in mind. Your problem is that you are on the defensive and they have the option to choose the time and the places when and where to attack and there is nothing much you can do about it. When will you Westerners realize that half measures don’t work with people who are willing to die by the thousands for Allah to achieve their goal? In their eyes the Western World is simply an abomination on earth that has to be wiped out.”

“The Americans, the Europeans, and even you Israelis really don’t know what it is all about, do you? During the last generation hundreds of thousands of children have been taught all over the Moslem world in Madrass schools to become martyrs for Allah in order to kill the infidels. These youngsters not only are ready to do it, but are actually in the process of doing it. Bombs are going off all over the world killing and maiming thousands of people, not only on 9/11 in the US, in London Madrid and Bali, but in Africa, India, Bengladesh, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and many other places. The first signs of the Islamic Tsunami is already here, but the West doesn’t understand, or doesn’t want to understand what is coming."

“Now is the time to stop them, not only because they are developing nuclear bombs, but because Iran has become the base for all Islamic terrorist. They supply, money, men, and weapons to Islamic terrorist around the world, quite often through their diplomatic mail. Billions of petro-dollars that are pouring into Iran are being funneled into terrorist organizations world-wide. They believe, and perhaps rightly so, that the West will do nothing to stop them in achieving their goals. Is history repeating itself? Are the Iranians making the same mistake that Hitler made when he attacked Poland? Is the situation similar?"

“As a history teacher who studied the subject thoroughly I can tell you that Western victory in World War Two was not all certain. Hitler could have won the war if he would have gone ahead with the atomic bomb development before the Americans. The Germans began working on it in the thirties, and it was Hitler’s decision to prefer building more conventional arms, as he considered atomic weapons sheer fantasy. Hitler made the wrong decision, but had he made the right decision the world would have been a different type of world today, wouldn’t it? The West won the war against Hitler by sheer chance. Very few people seem to realize that.”

I'm thinking the Muslim fantasy of ruling the wrold will never come to be because there is no unity , no one cohesive entity that can actually run a caliphate embracing the whole world. All they can do is draw blood and leave destruction in some places and that will be the extent of it, and the world will be in a very dark place. We should understand that. We should fight their kind of fight if this is what will defeat them and do it everywhere - in Iraq and in Israel.

Fightin' The Good Fight....With Golf

I hang with a bunch of pretty cool cats, all avid golfers from all walks of life. Every Memorial Day weekend, we put on a golf tournament, Fri-Sat-Sun-Mon, for the 24 of us. It's all about getting together, having a blast, drinking beer, betting, and competing on the golf course. We have individual, 2-Man and Ryder Cup competitions, winners receive money, trophies.....and THE JACKET! This baby is maroon with a golf emblem on the pocket, our tournament name sewn on it and.......the winners names sewn on the sleeves for the last 25 years....this baby rocks!

Last year, one of our best buds and elder statesmen, Bill Houser age 52, died of a heart attack 2 months before the tournament and we decided to dedicate our tournament to him. The boys got together and decided we would gather up some prizes, hold a raffle, raise some money and donate the money to the Houser family (not that they needed it). Well, we got 3 sets of PING Irons (valued at $1000+ each), numerous $50 and $100 gift certificates to fine restaurants, 4-some passes for golf at some great golf courses (some valued at ($400+ each), Charles Barkley autographed jersey (one of our buddy's hangs with him believe it or not), prints and a bunch of other stuff......we ended up raising over $5,300. Since the wife of Bill Houser is the Executive Director of the American Cancer Society here in Arizona, she directed the money to Arizona Camp Sunrise, a camp for kids with cancer. With the money they received from our tournament, Camp Sunrise bought a much needed large golf cart/vehicle, and on it, they had the license plate of "BH 1", in memory of Bill. Very Nice.

Well this year, we're doing the same. We have some great prizes added, in addtion to the above prizes, we'll have more autographed sports memorabilia, choice Arizona Diamndback and Arizona Cardinal tickets, gas cards, pro size Titleist golf bag and other stuff.
Raffle tickets are $25, time to open up the wallet and buy at least one!

All proceeds benefit Camp Sunrise/American Cancer Society, prizes for the raffle will drawn Memorial Day at our party, winner(s) need not be present! Checks are to be made out to "The American Cancer Society" and sent to:

John Edwards Is A BillyGoats Ass

There are two Americas, and John Edwards knows which one he needs to pander to.

Mark Steyn writes today:

If ever there was a perfect time for a Sister Souljah moment, this was it: John Edwards promises a 9/11 conspiracy theorist that he'll look into the collapse of World Trade Center 7 and get back to him - and he takes down his contact details.

According to Rasmussen, 35% of Democrats believe Bush knew about 9/11 in advance. The good news is 39% of Dems think he didn't. The remaining 26% aren't sure - though, at this rate, they'll be joining that 35% on the steely knoll well before the Iowa caucuses.

We get a steady dribble of stories from across the Atlantic like this one: British schools would rather not teach the Holocaust because too many of their Muslim pupils think it didn't happen. How long will it before American teachers complain that it's difficult to teach 9/11 in class because a small minority of pupils insist on clinging to the discredited and divisive fantasy that it was an attack by foreign terrorists?

Since Senator Edwards is happy to look into whether WTC7 was an inside job, I wonder if he could also investigate whether Bush-Cheney-Rove-Rumsfeld also pulled off Bali, Beslan, Istanbul, Madrid and the London Tube bombings. And where are they hiding the cost of this planet-wide "war on terror" fakery? In the Katrina appropriations?

Then we have this idiot, Webster Tarpley, on Hannity tonight in which he not only claimed Bush was behind WTC 7 but that Osama is actually CIA agents

Joe Chinese Guy

I was able to learn a few things about China from my recent trip that I thought were very interesting. While I have a few minutes to kill, I'll fire off a few thoughts.

Ever wonder about China's One Child Policy instituted in 1979? (Remember this ....having boys..... good......and girls.....not good......we're talking in China). What happens if parents have 2, or more children? Does the Chinese government "take them away" or induce abortions? The answer is........nope, sort of. In many areas you can have 2 children or more, but if you do, you will need to pay a "fine" the equivalent of $20,000 USD, that's pretty hefty fine and a very effective deterrent, so having one child pretty much sticks.

Despite its name, the one-child rule applies to a minority of the population; for urban residents and government employees, the policy is strictly enforced, with few exceptions. The exceptions include families in which the first child has a disability or both parents work in high-risk occupations (such as mining) or are themselves from one-child families (in some areas).
In rural areas, where approximately 70 percent of the people live, a second child is generally allowed after five years, but this provision sometimes applies only if the first child is a girl — a clear acknowledgment of the traditional preference for boys. A third child is allowed among some ethnic minorities and in remote, underpopulated areas.

Many people in the rural areas that have girl babies quite frequently get rid of these poor girl babies, either through drownings or suffocation, or sometimes selling them off. Rural families are said to be particularly tempted to kill female offspring, such is the pressure to produce a child capable of coping with the physical demands of farming and prevent cash-strapped farming households from being plunged even deeper into poverty.

Statistically, the policy has had some success. The authorities say it has prevented well over 300 million births since it was introduced in 1980 and is fulfilling its initial aim of ensuring that China can combat rural poverty and improve standards of living across the board.

I haven't read anywhere about the cultural change about ready to hit China in the coming generation(s) but I'm thinking it's gonna be big. Prior to the 'one child policy', your typical Chinese family consisted of the 'old school' 4-5-6-7+ kids in the family. According to my comrades in China (Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou, Tianjin and Nanjing) the one child kids are under tremendous pressure to excel in school, especially the males, so that they will be able to land a high paying job and one day support not only his eventual family, but also the parents.......both sets. Along with that pressure of excelling in school, these kids have no brothers or sisters to grow up with, often play solo and interaction with others is minimal. I wonder in years to come what sort of impact on their whole society this will make. I'm sure there's a study out there somewhere.

The birth ratio is also very alarming, for every 120 males born, there are 100 females born. A disparagement of 5% is deemed high, China has approx. 20%, I've seen figures as high as 130-100, so you're talking slim pickin's for the boys in China. This is actually a good thing....for the Chinese military that is. If you have an army of a few million Chinses dudes not gettin' any chicks and you've got a potential ji-frickin'-had of monumental proportions on your hands should these boys get a little bent out of shape.

And another thing, I've read that 65%-70% of males smoke cigarettes in China, hell it seemed like nearly 100% when I was there. So you've got the biggest country in the world with a negative birth rate, a 20% difference between males and females, most of the males smoke and most of these males are under pressure to provide for their families, not too mention the slim pickin's of the Chinese gal-folk........what currently seems like such a rosy picture for China with their highly successful transition into 'capitalism', may turn out to be a not so rosy for the future generations.

Just chillin' and wonderin'............BTW, I'm reading "1421, The Year China Discovered America". it's about 600 pages, I'm through about 110 pages so far and it is AWESOME. The 8th through 15th centrury Chinese dynasties were amazing! Just about everything they did/built were of gargantuous size, The Forbidden City, The Great Wall, their ships were 4-5 times the size of the Europeans at the time.
In 1421, the Chinese had thousands of ships set sail to all corners of the earth (yes, North, South America) to let the world know who they are and that they exist, not too conquer, but too let them know who they are. Upon their return 2-3 years later, the Zheng He Dynasty had collapsed, most records were burned and everything went to hell, the boys who returned were in for the shock of their lives.........and that's right where I am with this book.

Adíos.

Goin' Out On A Limb Here.....

I really wonder who the guys are out there are (I actually don't really care) who think this chick has one degree of hotness. This skanky little rat's recent comments sparked me to comment on her pathetic life, I hope I didn't ruin whatever rep I have by posting on this mutt.

Paris Hilton wants us all to know and has urged fans to sign a petition to keep her out of jail because she "provides beauty and excitement to (most of) our otherwise mundane lives".

For the love of Winston Crite........beauty and excitement?

The petition reads: "Paris Whitney Hilton is an American celebrity and socialite. She is an heiress to a share of the Hilton Hotel fortune, as well as to the real estate fortune of her father Richard Hilton. She provides hope for young people all over the US and the world. She provides beauty and excitement to (most of) our otherwise mundane lives."

PS - I'd be curious to know if anyone out there knows who Winston Crite is. ;-)

Mr. Ralph Picarello

Funeral today.

One of my best buds, Tony Picarello, his father died friday from pancreatic cancer (spread to other organs as well). He was diagnosed April 7, 2007, the funeral was today. Mr. Pic was a great man, they have a great family, survived by sons Ralph, Tony, David, and daughters Jill and Kim, and his wife Rosemary.

They don't make 'em like this anymore, a wonderful man, my father always spoke highly of him, those two enjoyed watching myself and Tony P. play basketball at high school here in Phoenix. A sad day, but I am thankful I was touched by him. Little did these two would ever know but they are buried about 50 yards from each other.

Jules Crittenden has the latest ridiculous headlines from the mainstream on the promising developments in Iraq.

Ho hum........some more great news on the surge......Sunni Muslim sheikhs join US in fighting Al Qaeda.

Hasta mañana.

I was just denied my request for a personalized license plate from the state of Arizona for my new ride. What did I request, well of course.......

GRRINGO

They said it was disparaging and offensive to others. I asked them who the "others" were, they told me "well, people of all races".

Dumb-bats......the appeal is on......this will be fun.

Harry Reid: The War is Lost / al Qaeda: The War is Lost

Al Qaeda Leaders Demand Immediate Withdraw from Iraq "Quagmire"

Can you say.....The Surge is working? Nah, that would be terrible news for........the Democrats.

THIS SHOULD BE PLASTERED ALL OVER THE MEDIA.........LOCAL, NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL NEWS!!

WTF.

Following the deaths of both Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi and Abu Ayyub al-Masri, the decimation of the ranks of Al Qaeda in Iraq, and the growing unpopularity of foreign insurgents among Iraqis, some senior terrorists affiliated with Al Qaeda have called upon Usama Bin Laden to withdraw all of his troops from Iraq by October.

The war in Iraq "is lost" and Al Qaeda attacks are failing to bring an Islamic state to the country, spokesman of the Salafist Group for Preching and Combat, Harry Sheikh Reidari, said Thursday. "I believe ... that this war is lost, and continuing attacks are not accomplishing anything, as is shown by the extreme blows to our network in Iraq recently," Reidari told journalists. "Iraq has diverted resources from our greater 'War on Freedom'. It would be best if we withdrew, leaving only a small force to train Iraqi jihadists, and redeployed our other forces to Afghanistan to continue with a Holy War that everyone can support."
